As the contest to sign up sports fans hots up, the latest platform to join in the battle to provide Sky Sports 1 and 2 to the consumer is Top Up TV, the service that allows Freeview viewers to subscribe to premium content.
The provider announced that it will be charging £22.99 for one channel and £31.99 for both sports channels, however rival BT is providing the same channels for only £11.99 for one and £16.99 for the two Sky Sports channels.
Top Up TV already carries ESPN and for £39.99 the consumer will be able to purchase the complete sports package which will include most of the top flight football matches when the season starts next month.

Top Up TV to offer Sky Sports

The cable TV provider Virgin Media has started its marketing campaign to promote its phone, TV and broadband packages and highlight the benefits of the high definition TV service that carries Sky Sports One and Two in HD.
Bundles are just a feature in the campaign as it is a way to attract customers to sign up for all of their needs and save money at the same time, but for Virgin Media it is the premium sports package that acts as a great hook to capture new customers.
With the new football season starting next month, fans could be looking around for different providers and this will be a big test for all providers as the content is shared across the various platforms.

Virgin Media starts Sky Sports campaign

Rivals of BSkyB are now able to offer Sky Sports 1 and 2 to their customers as a reduced cost sports service comprising the two main sports channels.
However, it seemed that BSkyB was not going to give up that easily and went ahead and raised it is prices.
Further to this action, BSkyB has created a package of five sports channels, not including the Sky 3D Channel which also shows sporting events but obviously broadcasts in 3D.
To help launch the new Sky Sports package, BSkyB has brought in that old favourite, Eric Cantona, to front up the Sky Sports advertising campaigns.
The idea behind the campaign is to show that Sky TV is the only place where all five channels can be seen in HD.
