Amino has
partnered with beeTV to develop and
deliver a recommendation-based personalised TV experience, via Amino’s award-winning
range of STBs. The PCC uses a set of proprietary contextual recommendation algorithms
that identify the viewers’ habits, taste, viewing history, personal viewing context
and up-to-date general trends. The PCC, which resides on the STB, gathers suitable
recommendations from all content sources including broadcast TV, subscription TV,
VoD, PVR/Catch-up and pushes it to each individual viewer as an entertaining, personalised
channel that leverages on the richness and impact of visual television images. The
solution requires no “catalogue” textual description, no channel surfing nor red and
green buttons.
The PCC, a white label interface, enables providers to increase VoD consumption and
improve customer acquisition and retention. The PCC’s powerful management tools allow
providers to initiate and manage content-marketing activities and proactively insert
their business logic.
It also maximises brand extension across multiple platforms and creates potential
revenue streams from targeted advertising by gathering and utilising valuable collected
customer marketing data.

in a position to increase testing capacity for Mediaroom, enabling faster time-to-market
for OEMs and more choice of STBs for Mediaroom operators.

Tilgin announces
interoperability with Amino Communications’ IPTV
STBs. Tilgin’s remote management solution enables operators to manage the STB remotely,
allowing them to expand their IPTV offering whilst effectively managing operating
costs.
Tilgin’s VCM 5.6 Device Management software is based on Broadband Forum’s TR-069 and
TR-135 standards, which makes this system a fully open and standards compliant solution
for service providers. This means that the service providers can manage their full
triple play home solutions using VCM as the common CPE management platform. Developed
with a clear focus on operational efficiency, Tilgin’s remote management solution
allows broadband service providers to launch and deliver new services to the mass
market without increasing operational expenses. Thanks to the flexibility in today’s
Broadband Forum TR-069 standards, the CPE challenges of yesterday can now be solved.
“In addition to delivering entertainment, the Amino STB has much more capability to
offer operators. By interoperating with the Tilgin VCM 5.6 and through our development
work to support IPTV industry standards based features such as TR-069, our STBs can
enable operators with remote management and service-quality based features – leading
ultimately to increased customer satisfaction”, says David Groves, Head of Product
Strategy at Amino. ”VCM customers claim VCM to be the most flexible and easy to use
ACS systems on the market in terms of interoperability. Today, we are pleased to expand
the flexibility with the announcement of a successful integration with Amino’s STBs.
This additional VCM functionality makes it even easier for our customers to continue
to grow their service offerings,” says Eric Hjelmestam, VP of Product Management at
Tilgin.
