The cost cutting plans are continuing at the BBC following the recent review, which appears to have really made the management at the BBC sit up and take notice of what is going on and how the BBC should be run in the 21st Century.
The latest cost cutting idea involves the magazine division.
With the most popular title being the Radio Times, according to BBC Magazines, the corporation is seriously searching for a partner in order for the brand to realise its full potential.
It would appear that there are already interested parties and why not – these are famous titles that often run in conjunction with TV shows, such as Top Gear, Gardeners World and Doctor Who.
Initial meetings could take place within weeks.
These will just test the ground to see what is out there, but it is suspected that the BBC will want to keep editorial control of the magazines.

BBC looking for Radio Times partner
The future of the BBC-owned Radio Times is unclear.
There was talk of the title being sold off along with the other magazines published through the BBC but with no firm decision made, the magazine still has to soldier on in a very competitive environment.
In order to compete with the many other listings magazines, the Radio Times has had to move with the current times and as such has been given a bit of makeover with a new cover design and will now provide listings for catch up TV on the BBC iPlayer as well as other video on demand services.
As for the circulation, the Radio Times has managed to creep back over the one million barrier.
This shows an increase of 3.6 per cent for the last half of 2009, but is still 2.2 per cent down on the year.

Arab Radio & Television (ART) is already planning its exit from the pay-TV market in its Middle East homeland.
Now it has changed its mind regarding covering this summer’s South Africa-based World Cup soccer tournament.
ART had previously said it would cover the games despite having sold the rights to Al Jazeera Sports Channels.
ART had earlier said that its subscribers would still be able to view the games under a “rebroadcast agreement” it had negotiated with Al Jazeera.
There were signs that the agreement had broken down when ART failed to show some games from the Africa Cup competition played this past January. Al Jazeera showed the matches.
“Since that time, people here at ART felt uncomfortable with the way things might go with Al Jazeera in the future, especially with the World Cup,” said Nawaf Tamimi, ART’s public relations chief.
“So, since that time, the promotion for the bouquet has stopped. We prepared a marketing and advertising campaign for the sport and entertainment channels, but after that experience, we stopped everything.”
Only about 10,000 subscribers in Saudi Arabia who bought World Cup packages through ART before the rights sale will have access to the matches on ART, Tamimi added.
