Laptop repair hacker caught out by Sky
Dell has announced the launch of the Inspiron M101z ultra-thin portable, which is sort of a cross between a laptop and a netbook.
The company says it boasts the performance of a laptop, but with the portability of a netbook. Essentially, it’s the size of a netbook (weighing less than 4lb), but with considerably more grunt in the form of an Athlon II Neo K125 processor engine, running at 1.7GHz.
Backing that up is an integrated ATI RS880M graphics solution, 2GB of memory, a 250GB 5400rpm hard drive, and an 11.6 inch HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768. That’s the base model of the M101z which costs £379 including VAT and shipping direct from Dell.
If you want to spend a bit more money, several options are available. The top-end M101z sports a dual-core Athlon II Neo K325 processor, 4GB of memory, and a 320GB 7200rpm hard disk, with a price tag of £499.
All of the laptops come loaded with Windows Home 7 Premium 64-bit, and you also get a choice of back cover colour, from plain black, to lotus pink, tomato red or peacock blue. The latter looks pretty impressive for those showy types.
