Bluestreak Technology announces that Bouygues Telecom has selected the company’s MachBlue platform to power the next-generation interface for Bouygues Telecom’s popular Bbox IPTV. The new IPTV interface, which launched beginning of June, gives consumers a visually rich and intuitive portal and entertainment programming guide created using Flash technology. Future releases of the Bbox interface will include a Media Center as well as a Widget Framework for accessing news, sports, weather, traffic, entertainment gossip, stocks, and horoscopes using the TV.

EchoStar Satellite Services announces an agreement to deliver its ViP-TV service to Duncan Cable TV in Vermont. With a ViP-TV-connected headend, Duncan Cable will be able to deliver more than 45 popular high definition TV channels.

Duncan Cable provides video services to more than 2,800 residents and businesses in Southern Vermont and sought a platform that would enable it to offer competitive HD video services using its existing IP network.

IMS Research figures, which precede its forthcoming study, “The World Market for Set-top Boxes and iDTVs”, show that a major increase in its set-top box sales propelled Pace from third place in 2008 to first in 2009.
